Teehaus im Wald

Munich, Germany
[Studio Duktus]

A retreat in the midst of nature was created in a small forest in Munich. The play of light and shadow can be observed both on the surrounding terrace and in the interior, which is glazed on three sides. The teahouse floats gently above the vegetation. Only four columns touch the forest floor.

The building, made entirely of wood, is closed on one side to provide a visual shield. The linear lighting follows the layout of the interior. A pre-greyed shingle roof creates a link between the japanese origin and the local craftsmanship. Text description by the architects.
