4. Terreno House | Mexico | 2018
[Fernanda Canales]The house is located on a plateau of a mountain almost three hours outside Mexico City and seeks for two seemingly contradictory things: shelter and openness. On one hand, it strives to be a refuge from the radical climate, which in the same day varies with almost 30 degrees centigrade and where it rains almost daily for 6 months, and, on the other hand, tries to open up as much as possible towards the vast landscape.Click Here to view the project.
5. Aarhus School of Architecture | Denmark | 2021 / @aarchdk
[ADEPT + Vargo Nielsen Palle]Inspired by 21st-century learning principles, the new Aarhus School of Architecture was designed as an incubator for architectural experiments, workshop-based learning, and unplanned synergies between students. The architecture is raw, almost resembling an industrial building, but only at first glance – the refined detailing and strong spatial organization deliberately communicate how a building is constructed; how to refine a design through a few carefully selected materials, and how to allow architecture to step into the background as a flexible framework for activity.Click Hereto view the project.
6. Umbau Kirschlager | Switzerland | 2018
[Buchner Bründler Architekten + Lilitt Bollinger Studio]The building in Nuglar constructed in 1968 used to be part of a liquor distillery with wine and spirits store in Nuglar. The house served as a storage facility and shop, but primarily as a place to bring cherries. Located immediately next to the distillery dating back to the 1920s, the former storehouse has high rooms, which were however hardly connected to each other and the exterior.Click Here to view the project.
7. Swiss Residence in Mexico City | Mexico City, Mexico | 2021
[Fruehauf, Henry & Viladoms + Blancasmoran]The Swiss Residence is located in the Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood in northwest Mexico City and is characterized by tree-lined avenues that are home to prestigious residences. The topography is a geographical element that strongly defines the site. The ravines create natural corridors abundantly wooded. The residence is located right at the bending point between Paseo de la Reforma Avenue and the Dolores Ravine.Click Hereto view the project.
8. Corner House | Australia | 2020
[ARCHIER]Corner House is an exploration of intersections. For our clients, the project signified a profound moment of change in their lives, marking their retirement from respective architectural careers and relocation from Melbourne to the Mornington Peninsula. They wanted a home that would facilitate a new chapter that prioritized both their connection and independence.Click Hereto view the project.
9. Paris XII Apartments | Paris, France | 2020
[MARS Architectes]The project is located in the twelfth district of Paris, completed in October 2020 for the real estate company GECINA, enclosed at the heart of a block, surrounded by an apartment complex built in the 1970s. The architectural style of the project is rigorous, contrasting with the apparent freedom that the naturalistic garden takes.Click Hereto view the project.
10. Casa Poli | Chile | 2005
[Pezo von Ellrichshausen]The Poli House is a modern cubical residence located on the Coliumo peninsula in Chile - designed by architects Mauricio Pezo and Sofia von Ellrichshausen. The structure is located on the Coliumo peninsula, a countryside inhabited by farmers, fishermen, and some tourists who occasionally visit. The Poli House is compact yet isolated and the architects wanted to portray two ideas: the sensation of a natural podium surrounded by the vastness and the dizzying and wide-open space produced by the sight of the sea washing against the rocks at the foot of the cliffs.Click Hereto view the project.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
