Marcadet Project

The Marcadet project is a complete renovation of a 50 sqm apartment in Paris, located in a modern 1970s building. This transformation enhances the space’s potential by structuring volumes, optimizing natural light, and ensuring a fluid and intuitive circulation.

The layout was designed to balance openness and spatial control, creating an atmosphere that is both sober and intimate. Light, a key element of the project, flows naturally through materials carefully selected for their ability to capture and reflect contrasts. The interplay of textures, alternating matte and glossy finishes, adds depth and relief, further reinforcing the space’s character.

The use of raw and natural materials such as walnut wood, solid oak parquet, polished concrete, travertine and zellige establishes an aesthetic that is both authentic and structured. These elements interact within a warm yet refined palette, where each finish has been thoughtfully chosen to enhance the project’s overall harmony.

The subtle yet present curves of the selected furniture and custom-built features soften the rigor of the architectural lines, shaping a space that is both sophisticated and inviting, where comfort merges with sober elegance.

This project embodies a balance between modernity and character, openness and intimacy, creating a luminous, structured, and resolutely contemporary living space. Text description by the architects.
