Architects: Manuel Aires Mateus

This summer, Branca headed south of Portugal for a branded photo shoot. The location is in Grândola, Alentejo at Manuel Aires Mateus' recently completed project Sobreiras Altas.

In this interior design venture, Branca captured the finest views of our collection along with the recently launched BICA table designed by the Architect Manuel Aires Mateus.

This photo session, catch the soul of Manuel Aires Mateus new house without actually showing it. With an unexpected architecture, it's light, textures and materials, Sobreiras Altas presented the perfect interior for Branca Products in a new art direction environment.

Some words about Sobreiras Altas by Arch. Manuel Aires Mateus:

“Sober volumes define the space. The measurement on the ground is given by the tension between the buildings. In the “imprisoned” space, one part is water. Another projected dimension will be given by the vegetation that will refine the size of the various voids.

Inside, a systemic sequence repeats the spaces. The doors are always the same. The windows are always the same. The materiality merges with the earth that surrounds this artifice.”

BICA TABLE

The new table system designed by the portuguese Architect Manuel Aires Mateus. Bica table is inspired by the vernacular furniture of Portuguese taverns. Being a subtle redesign the architect conceived this table as light as possible, a single drawing line. The strong metal structure is covered by a thin solid wood corner and the table top is in wood veneer or stone.
