Encosta House
The house is the boundary, the gesture that frames the view. Against the fragmented program, there is a desire for a unifying design. The rhythm of the volumes, almost blind, constructs the periphery. Each unit, room, patio, is a secret place of rest.
Housing Block
Set in the Rua dos Mártires, a prime area of the small city of Leiria in Central Portugal, the site of the new housing complex is wedged between a wide modern avenue featuring new construction and a narrow old street that leads to the city’s historic district. The project combines the renovation of a pre-existing small house with a new extension and features seven apartments as well as a shared private parking zone.
Casal Saloio – Museum of Rurality
The Casal Saloio de Outeiro de Polima is one of the few examples that document the first occupations of this territory. It is an old and humble rural house that has undergone successive changes and expansions over time until it is now transformed into a museum space.
Victor Cordon
Located in downtown Lisbon in the DGPC's Urban Rehabilitation Area and Property Protection Zone, this multi-family housing building has been subject to various extensions and alterations over the years, depriving it of its original character and historical identity.

This house attests to the idea that architecture is a long, arduous and patient process. From the outset, it redefined for us the sense that architecture is expected to cross various scales, spanning from the design of a door handle to the modeling of its territory.

CASA M
Casa M was a labor of love that took over three years to build in Melides, Portugal. The team behind its design together with Van Duysen, the actual client, sought to create an enduring monument to design – a sculptural oeuvre camouflaged by the rolling hills, dunes and cork trees of Alentejo, south of Lisbon, where flocks of storks hover high above it.
