Creative Living: A Home Where History and Design Merge
In the La Petxina neighborhood of Valencia, this 100 m² home redefines the concept of renovation by blending the Valencian spirit of the 1950s with the contemporary needs of a creative couple.

The project pays homage to the past by recreating original moldings in the living room and bedroom, as well as reinterpreting the curved walls that characterized the home's original layout. A dedicated studio space adapts to their creative needs, demonstrating how well-thought-out design can balance work and personal life. The carefully chosen colors, textures, and materials create a warm yet elegant atmosphere that reflects the couple’s passions and lifestyle.

Respecting the Home’s Identity and Layout
The main challenge of this project was adapting the home's layout to modern needs, particularly the addition of a second bathroom. One bathroom remains in its original location but has been transformed with green tones to reinforce the home’s biophilic approach. In the master bedroom, an en-suite bathroom has been integrated, and the kitchen has been reorganized to maximize storage and workspace.

Stained oak wood cabinetry brings warmth and natural charm to the kitchen, while the improved layout enhances circulation and functionality. This project is a clear example of how a home can be redesigned to meet contemporary demands without losing its original identity.

The Curve as a Defining Element
One of the most distinctive aspects of this home is the use of curves. This architectural feature, present in the original design, has not only been preserved but also expanded. A curved entryway cabinet softens the transition into the home and guides movement fluidly between different areas. Here, the curve serves not just as a design element but also as a rhythmic connector between past and present.

Lighting: A Key Aspect of Everyday Life
Lighting plays a fundamental role in the daily experience of the home’s occupants, which is why it has been designed with special attention to detail. To create a warm and inviting ambiance, indirect lighting has been incorporated to subtly envelop each space. Carefully selected designer lamps enhance the tranquil atmosphere while complementing the overall aesthetic. This thoughtful approach to lighting reinforces the idea of a home that invites peaceful living.

Colors That Inspire Calm and Connection
Green is introduced throughout the home via vegetation, textiles, and continuous surface finishes strategically placed to foster a biophilic design approach.

A Home Filled with History, Comfort, and Design
Every design decision has been made with the goal of enhancing comfort. From natural materials to the spatial organization, every element has been carefully considered to create a home where tranquility and creativity coexist in harmony. Biophilic elements, subtle color accents, and small details that evoke the past make this home a unique and character-filled space. Text description by the architects.
